What To Do When Your Little One Is Sick
Sick Care
When your child is sick, we know you want quick answers to questions you may have.
You should always feel comfortable calling us with questions and we recommend that you bring your child in to see us if they are exhibiting illness or have minor injuries. We treat all general pediatric illness (fever, cough, rash, ear / nose / throat, tummy pain etc.) We also treat minor injuries - bumps and bruises, nursemaid's elbow, minor lacerations - saving you a trip to the emergency room. We will always try to get you seen on the same day that you call.

What To Do When The Office Is Closed
Some of your after hours questions can be answered by visiting the "KidsDoc Symptom Checker" and if your child's illness is not urgent, please call us first thing in the morning to schedule an appointment. We we understand that sometimes you just need reassurance, so if you need to reach the doctor after-hours, please call our office line 504-305-5500 and follow the prompts to be connected to the doctor on-call.

Early Morning, Evening and Weekend Sick Care
We understand how difficult it can be to get time off work to bring your little one to the office for care. That's why we offer early mornings, Thursday evenings and Saturday hours. We have sick hours at the following times and throughout the day:
Evening Hours
On Thursdays we stay open late to help accommodate sick and well visits that are difficult for parents to schedule at other times during the week. If you need an appointment for after 4pm, please call and request a time during our 4pm-6pm time slot on Thursdays.
Select Saturday Hours
We are open at least two Saturdays a month from 9am-12pm. Please call for availability. Occasionally we will post when we are holding Saturday hours on our Facebook page, usually 2-3 days in advance. You can follow us by going here.
